Financials – Subledger Accounting (FSL)
Raytio's Financials – Subledger Accounting (FSL) module bridges the gap between source transactions in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and the General Ledger. It captures accounting events as they occur, derives the correct GL accounts, creates balanced subledger journal entries, and transfers them into GL journal batches ready for posting.
Key concepts
- Accounting events — raised automatically by AR and AP status changes (e.g. invoice completion, receipt creation). Each event records what happened, when, and in which currency.
- Event classes and line types — configuration that defines what kinds of events the system recognises and what debit/credit line types each class produces.
- Account derivation — a priority-based rule engine that resolves the correct GL code combination for each journal line, drawing from customer sites, supplier sites, items, tax rates, bank accounts, or ledger defaults.
- Subledger journal entries — balanced debit/credit entries created from accounting events, including foreign-currency conversion and realised gain/loss calculations.
- Transfer to GL — a batch operation that copies finalised subledger entries into GL journal batches, linking each GL line back to its subledger source.

Explanation
Conceptual documentation that explains how the FSL module works:
- Data Model — how event classes, line types, accounting methods, derivation rules, source accounts, accounting events, and journal entries relate to each other
- Accounting Events — event classes, triggers that raise events, and event statuses
- Account Derivation — line types, derivation rules, source accounts, and ledger defaults
- Create Accounting and Transfer to GL — journal entry creation, realised gain/loss, and the month-end sequence
