Financials – Tax (FTX)

Raytio's Financials – Tax (FTX) module manages tax configuration and calculation for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions. It supports multiple tax regimes (e.g. New Zealand GST, Australian GST, UK VAT), multiple classification codes per regime, and automatic tax calculation when transactions are completed or validated.

Key concepts

  • Tax regimes — top-level configuration scoped to a country (e.g. NZ_GST for New Zealand). Each country has one regime.
  • Taxes — the individual tax types within a regime (e.g. GST within NZ_GST).
  • Tax rates — the percentage rates for each tax, with classification codes that distinguish standard, zero-rated, exempt, and reduced rates.
  • Tax classification codes — codes assigned to transaction lines that determine which rate applies (e.g. STANDARD, ZERO, EXEMPT).
  • Tax lines — the calculated tax records created for each transaction line, storing the taxable amount, tax amount, and (for AP) the recoverable split.

Explanation

Conceptual documentation that explains how the FTX module works:

  • Regimes, Taxes, and Rates — how tax configuration is structured across countries, tax types, and rate classifications
  • Tax Calculation — how tax is calculated on AR and AP transactions, classification codes, the recoverable split, and how tax feeds into accounting
