Account Derivation

Account derivation is the process of resolving which GL code combination (account) each subledger journal line should post to. Rather than hard-coding accounts on every transaction, FSL uses a priority-based rule engine that searches a chain of sources until it finds a match.

Accounting Events

Accounting events are the bridge between business transactions in AR and AP and the subledger journal entries that record their financial effect. Events are raised automatically by database triggers whenever a transaction reaches a milestone — there is no manual step.

Create Accounting and Transfer to GL

Once accounting events have been raised by AR and AP triggers, two operations turn them into posted GL entries: Create Accounting processes events into balanced subledger journal entries, and Transfer to GL copies those entries into GL journal batches.

Financials – Subledger Accounting (FSL)

Raytio's Financials – Subledger Accounting (FSL) module bridges the gap between source transactions in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and the General Ledger. It captures accounting events as they occur, derives the correct GL accounts, creates balanced subledger journal entries, and transfers them into GL journal batches ready for posting.

Subledger Accounting Data Model

The subledger accounting data model has two layers: configuration entities that define how accounting works, and transactional entities that record what actually happened.
