Global Product Model (GPM)

Raytio's Global Product Model (GPM) is the product and service catalogue that powers the marketplace. It represents every sellable, bookable, or comparable item — from radiology procedures to insurance products to beauty services — in a consistent, tenant-scoped model.

GPM Data Model Overview

The GPM data model is built around a single master item catalogue connected to four supporting concepts — categories and hierarchies, attributes and values, relationships, and actions (CTAs). Understanding how these relate is the key to understanding how Raytio's product catalogue works.

Item Actions (CTAs)

Item actions define the call-to-action (CTA) buttons displayed in the marketplace for each item — for example "Compare", "Get a Quote", or "Book Now". Actions can be defined directly on a leaf item or on a category ancestor and inherited downward, so that an entire category of items shares the same CTAs without duplication.

Item Attributes and Values

GPM uses an extensible attribute pattern to attach typed metadata to items. This allows each domain, such as insurance, radiology, or beauty, to define its own attribute sets while using the same product catalogue model. These domains and attributes are examples; they can be extended for other product and service catalogues.

Item Relationships

Items in the GPM module are connected to each other through directed relationships. Each relationship links a child item to a related item with a typed relationship. The most important type is BELONGSTOCATEGORY, which builds the catalogue hierarchy, but the system supports additional types for substitutes, accessories, and other associations.

Item Resource Settings

Resource settings store authorisation policy limits associated with individual items. These settings define resource-level constraints — for example, how many times an item can be used, or a monetary cap on a service — that the authorisation engine evaluates at runtime.

Items

An Item is the fundamental unit in the GPM module. The item catalogue is the master register of everything the platform can sell, book, compare, or categorise — radiology procedures, insurance products, subscription plans, credit bundles, and the category nodes that organise them.
