Financials – Legal Entities (FLE)

Raytio's Financials – Legal Entities (FLE) module defines the organisational structure that underpins all financial processing. It manages legal entities, maps them to ledgers, and tracks business-unit usages that determine how different parts of the organisation participate in financial workflows.

Ledgers

A Ledger is the top-level container for journal entries in the General Ledger. Each ledger ties together a chart-of-accounts structure, an accounting calendar, and a functional currency — the three pillars that define how transactions are classified, when they can be posted, and in what currency balances are maintained.

Legal Entities and Business Units

A Legal Entity represents a legally recognised organisation — a company, trust, partnership, or other body — that can enter into contracts, own assets, and incur liabilities. In Raytio, legal entities are the top-level organisational unit for financial reporting: every ledger belongs to exactly one legal entity, and every journal entry is recorded within a legal-entity context.
